I’m currently working on a quick and dirty geometry node setup so that I can quickly create custom support structures for certain types of prints.
I’m currently mimicking how resin printing typically creates support structures, but I believe with this setup, I could potentially go further.
Modeling these base structures is fairly easy and intuitive as each edge becomes a curve path, and each vertex has a junction object placed on it.
Then it becomes rather easy to use modifiers in blender to make more compound structures such as scaffolding. By using array modifiers before the geometry node modifier, you can create wireframes that are more optimized.
It’s basically a wireframe modifier that’s a bit more printer friendly.
